This tutorial Was written by Me on the 11th Of April 2007.Any likeness to any other is purely by chance and No Copyright infringment was intended.

I use Paint Shop Pro X, But I'm Sure the same effects could be done using other versions.

Ok Let's Begin

Open a new canvas:

Select a font to apply the effect to - Any font can be used (I'm using Secret Recipie) And Write your desired text.
Stretch the text out to your desired size and select Objects-Align- Center of canvas.

Selections -Select all (ctrl+a) - Selections - Float (Ctrl+f) And you should have marching ants aroound your text.

Go to Effects - 3D effects and Use these settings...

Go to Selections - Select none (ctrl+d)

Layers- Merge Visable. Apply any Drop Shadow you may want.
I used these settings..

Layers - Merge all. Crop text and Save as a Jpeg.

And there You have it.

A pretty Metallic text with no plug-ins!
